QuickBooks Live

QuickBooks Live is a subscription bookkeeping service offered by Intuit as an add-on to QuickBooks Online, in which a contracted bookkeeper helps categorize transactions, reconcile accounts, and review the books inside the user's QBO file. It is designed to keep a small business's books current month to month using QuickBooks' own platform. The service is delivered remotely and priced separately from the core QBO subscription.

Problem & Application

QuickBooks Live can keep transactions categorized, but owner-operated businesses with industry-specific complexity, such as STR occupancy taxes, channel fee reconciliation, or multi-entity real estate, often need a bookkeeper who understands the vertical rather than a generalist working a queue. Knowing what QuickBooks Live does and does not cover, including tax filing and advisory, helps owners decide whether a bundled service or a dedicated firm gives them cleaner books and someone who actually knows their business.

In Short

QuickBooks Live is a reasonable entry point for basic cleanup, but businesses with real complexity usually outgrow a generic, queue-based service.
